Quintessentially English Marquee Wedding in an Oxfordshire Private Estate

Three years, three dates, an elopement, a baby, 2 sets of invitations, a pandemic and one INCREDIBLE quintessential English wedding!

Another roller coaster story which spans the pandemic. I worked with Ashley, James and their planner the incredible Katrina Otter for over 3 years while they eloped in the US (where they live) had a baby, postponed three times, once only weeks before the wedding date! and eventually celebrating with the most INCREDIBLE quintessential country marquee wedding in the depths of Oxfordshire on James family Estate.

Working with a planner of true excellence is such a joy and the end result always shows with the tiniest of details all coming together effortlessly and without parade to create a magical, memorable and seriously jawdropping result. The invitations were a bespoke version of our Hedsor Collection. A beautiful tribute fold with bespoke repeat pattern depicting the couples horses, dogs and flowers. We commissioned the fabulous Sarah Sutton to create the watercolour illustrations for both the save the date, order of service and invitations which added softness and tradition to the designs.

We had many hurdles along the way with 90% of their guests travelling from abroad to celebrate which resulted in the many postponements as travel restrictions due to covid occurred and illness affected guest lists. This resulted in last minute changes to both invitations, which we created twice, the on the day guest list which continued to change right up to the week before the wedding and marquee layout.

The on the day stationery was both modern and sophisticated, arch shape place names finished with sumptuous French blue silk tassels perfectly complimented the Burleigh Pottery charger plates. The combination of the styling, stationery and florals was simply divine. And there are literally no words to describe the jawdropping florals created by Liberty Lane.

A highlight was the padded table plan, created using the bespoke repeat pattern, printed on high quality cotton and stretched over a frame the luxurious textures kept the stylish yet soft atmosphere throughout. The couple even got to see the offcuts of fabric to make keepsakes out of in the future. Matching cushions anyone?

Ashley & James - Thank you for letting me create the most beautiful soft stationery suite for your day, a true pleasure.
